溫帶氣旋對中高緯度地區(qū)的天氣變化有著重要的影響，多風雨天氣，有時伴有暴雨或強對流天氣，有時近地面zui大風力可達10級以上。
溫帶氣候是世界上分布的氣候類型。由于溫帶氣候分布地域廣泛，類型復雜繁多，從而為生物界創(chuàng)造了良好的氣候環(huán)境，形成了豐富多彩的動植物界。從植物的種類上來看，有夏綠闊葉林、針葉林和針闊混交林，大陸內部也有草原、半沙漠和沙漠。草原地區(qū)生活著善跑能飛的動物；在闊葉林中生活著大型食肉類動物；針葉林中生活著一些耐寒動物。南溫帶處于南緯23°26'～66°34'之間，即南回歸線和南極圈之間的溫帶，無陽光直射。海洋生物的發(fā)育和生長條件與北溫帶相似。海生植物繁茂，巨型藻類生長*，浮游生物豐富，是南半球海洋動物zui多的地帶。南回歸線到南極圈之間的區(qū)域為南溫帶。
南溫帶是指南回歸線和南極圈之間的地區(qū)，即南緯66°34′到南緯23°26′之間的緯度帶。主要包括南美洲的南部，大洋洲南部和非洲的南部地區(qū)。
南溫帶屬于回歸線和極圈之間的中緯地帶。這個熱量帶內全年正午太陽高度變化很大，南回歸線上的變化幅為90°～43°8′之間，然后隨緯度的增高太陽高度逐漸減小，到了南極圈地區(qū)，變幅在46°52′～0°之間。而且該地區(qū)晝夜長短的變化幅度也很大，到了極圈地區(qū)可增加到24小時。所以溫帶地區(qū)氣溫的季節(jié)變化比較大，四季分明是溫帶的一大特點。
暖溫帶。暖溫帶有兩種不同的含義，一種是指zui熱月的平均氣溫在20℃以上為暖溫帶。第二種解釋是,zui熱月平均氣溫在10℃以上，zui冷月的平均氣溫在0℃以上叫暖溫帶。
涼溫帶（又稱中溫帶）
涼溫帶也有兩個不同的含義：*種為zui熱月的平均氣溫在10℃～20℃之間的地區(qū)。第二種解釋為zui熱月的平均氣溫在10℃以上，zui冷月的平均氣溫在0℃以下的地區(qū)。

The southern temperate zone belongs to the mid-latitude zone between the Tropic and Polar Circles. In this heat zone, the height of the sun changes greatly at noon of the year. The change range on the Tropic of Somatra is between 90° and 43°8′. Then the altitude of the sun decreases gradually with increasing latitude and reaches the Antarctic Circle. Between ° 52' ~ 0 °. The cold temperate zone is also called the sub-frigid zone, which means that the average annual temperature is below 0°C, and that the average temperature of the hottest month is higher than 10°C.
